I took a piece of 2 x 4 and drilled a 5/8" hole through the side with my drill press.
I then made several cuts down wood with my band saw to open up a little gap.
I put a carriage bolt through the top with a wing nut.
Put the clamp in a vice and you are in business.
Be careful not too tighten it too tight, you can crush the end of a graphite shaft.
